I have had this griddle for about 1 year. I use it every Saturday and have had nothing but problems with. I wish I would have just bought a new one. I have to spray pam every time before I make pancakes and even in between each batch. The heating is horribly uneven. The heat is intermittent and many times goes off during a batch. Recently I have had to put a measuring cup under the plug in heater thing to raise it up in order for the heat to come on. It is very finicky.

I've never written a review, but took the time to sign up and let others know, this griddle is AWFUL. I have had the same experience as many other reviews state: Recommended temps WAY too high, burns pancakes in some areas while other areas are raw, hot spots, and sticking. The Black & Decker engineers need to revisit this one! Very poor performing product. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

The is one of the worst products I have ever spent money on. Absolutely everything it claims to do, it fails miserably at. I am cooking pancakes right now and it has been disastrous. The griddle heats unevenly so the pancakes are burned in parts and light brown in others. Then it turns off once it gets hot so the second batch has been on the grill for literally the last 10 minutes and are still beige on the under side. If I could rate this product as ZERO stars, I would!! Completely cheap and useless--trust me, DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!

I bought this griddle a few months ago and hate it. It heats unevenly, but worse than that it shuts off as soon as it gets hot. I can get two batches of pancakes made and then I lose heat. I am online right now researching which brand I should buy. This one is headed straight for the trash. DO NOT GET THIS GRIDDLE!

We bought this to replace our 10 year old Black and Decker griddle. I loved the old griddle. Believe me, this is my last Black and Decker appliance. PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE, PAY ATTENTION TO THESE REVIEWS. WE ARE NOT KIDDING!
This was an incredible mistake. After three uses, the griddle started overheating. It burns and ruins everything.

NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. THIS GRIDDLE WORKED FINE FOR THE FIRST 6 MONTHS THAN EVERYTHING STARTED TO STICK. 6 MONTHS LATER THE HEAT STARTED TO GO ON AND OFF. OH AND DONT TRY TO CALL BLACK AND DECKER ABOUT YOUR ISSUES THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THAT I AM OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY WILL ONLY SELL ME A NEW ONE FOR [...]THEY DONT CARE THAT IT HAS BROKE.

The first time I used it, it shut off right in the middle of my first batch of pancakes. It has continued to do that ever since. I find that it will only keep hot at 400 degrees which is a little hot for pancakes. This has to be the worst small appliance I have ever owned. From the other reviews, it looks like I'm not alone.

This product is so bad, that I had to write my first ever review about it. Received it as a Father's Day gift and have tried to use it every weekend day since with no success; replaced a 7+ year old Presto (mistake).Positive = cooking surface size. Negatives: terrible finish on cooking surface, as if a 4" grinding wheel was used; grease channel surround = useless and difficult to clean; temperature "control" fluctuates wildly; recommended cooking temperatures much too high for this unit; cooking VERY uneven! Bacon = over crisp (nearly burnt)at the tips, and nearly raw in the middle, must use a bacon press to get it even close; pancakes overcooked (nearly burnt)on the edges over the heating elements, and undercooked in the middle. Have purchased several Black & Decker cooking products in the past with much success (undercabinet, etc.). This product is THE WORST ... DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY! we are headed back to Target for another Presto!

We owned this for about 2 years before finally throwing it away. We kept hoping that it would work consistently, but it never did.
Sometimes it would heat up, but usually it would not.
The control knob is worthless.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!

Hi, I bought one of these griddles after my last griddle - which lasted forever - died. I figured Black & Decker would be a good brand. I have used it 3 times, and have had burnt eggs, bacon, and last night pancakes. We kept lowering the temperature, but everything still burns. Then the burnt on food won't really clean off. I was so disappointed. Avoid this griddle.
